41 Weeks

The Friday after Thankgiving we left early for a trip to Pennsylvania to spend the weekend with friends. Emma Claire did great on the car ride both ways. She had a lot of fun playing with Sarah and Abbie and we enjoyed our visit with Dave and Stacie and the girls. Not much new this week other then we are starting to give her more bites of our food and Kyle gave her some Cranberry Juice which she couldn't get enough of. We've figured out that she will eat much better if we give her table food with more flavor/seasonings rather then bland food. For the most part we eat pretty healthy so their is normally a few things off our plates that we let her try depending on what we are eating. She's not big on anything green other than cucumbers. She loves her yogurt and gets really excited when she sees you get it out of the refrigerator.

This week Emma Claire had her first Thanksgiving. She and I drove to Charlotte on Tuesday, had dinner Wednesday night with my family, and drove back Thursday for Thanksgiving with Kyle's family. She got to try lots of new foods at Thanksgiving - turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, and even a taste of pumpkin pie! She also helped cheer the Wolfpack to victory over Carolina and made the cutest cheerleader ever! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are so thankful for our healthy, adorable baby girl!

Bathtime fun

9 Months

9 months, already? At her checkup, she weighed 17 1/2 lbs. (25th percentile) and measured 26 inches (10th percentile).  Adjusted for her due date, she is 38th percentile for weight and 29th percentile for height.

The bunny pictures were virtually impossible this month. She is rarely still these days. I think we are going to have to figure something else out for our monthly picture from here on out.

She's still not mobile which is ok with us for now. She has gotten herself on her hands and knees a few times so I don't think it will be long before she figures it out. No interest yet in pulling up but her legs are much stronger and she can stand with little assistance other than for balance.

Here are a few other things of note...
  • Wearing 6-9 Months or some 6-12 Months Clothes and
  • Size 3 Diapers
  • Loves bathtime - sits up now and plays for as long as we let her but has also started trying to roll onto her belly to play
  • Starting clapping hands together but not yet intentional
  • Feeds herself finger foods
  • Going through seperation anxiety - if you leave the room she will fuss not understanding that you didn't actually leave her
***Note, no babies were harmed in the making of these pictures.

39 Weeks

Emma Claire turned 9 months old this week! We made a trip to Charlotte to go to the Southern Christmas Show with Nanny & Aunt Courtney. She was an angel and rode around in her stroller while we shopped. She also got all gussied up to celebrate Uncle Ryan's Birthday! Here are a few pictures from our week...

Feeding herself puffs at the Christmas Show

38 Weeks

I'm behind again on postings so these will be short and sweet since the weeks run together. This week Emma Claire made her first trip to the polls to help Mommy vote in the mid-term elections. She also started feeding herself finger foods and mastered the pincher grip (thumb & forefinger) surprisingly quickly.  She also started what we refer to as "dancing" where she sits & bounces herself usually while smiling or babbling. It's adorable. She is also really enjoying bathtime these days and plays with her toys for a good 10-15 minutes each night before we soap her up. New foods this week were puffs, cheese, white potatoes, and pasta.

37 Weeks

It's been a rough week for Emma Claire. She came down with a cold on Friday and seemed to be feeling pretty bad until Tuesday. We had a few nights where she woke up crying which is very unlike her and a few days where the only time she wasn't crying was if I was holding her. She still has some nasal congestion but seems to be feeling somewhat better. She'

Sunday we dressed her up in her Halloween costume and went to visit Aimee & Cory, Carrie & Chad, and Grandma & Pop. She was the cutest cupcake ever! And on Tuesday, Emma Claire went to the polls with me to vote in the mid-terms.

Nothing new to report this week in terms of milestones. She did try Mango today for the first time. Here are a few pictures from our week...

36 Weeks

Our sweet girl is getting busier each day. She is FASCINATED with the tv remote or as my family called it and I've long been picked on for, the "tv box". If she is anywhere near it she is straining to reach it.  Also, Kyle and I were laughing this week that she doesn't reach for us but she will reach for Savannah. She's starting to get a bit of attitude. If you take something away from her, she will let you know that she's none to happy about it.

New foods this week were chicken and pumpkin. We've also started to give her some tastes of table food, bananas diced into small pieces, and a sippy cup of water. She doesn't quite have the hang of the sippy cup or feeding herself the banana yet.

Here are a few pictures from our week...
