Emma Claire is 9 weeks old. She is doing great - nursing and sleeping well. She is regularly going 5 hour stretches at night. This week she had a few firsts. She took her first nap in her crib (she is still sleeping at night in our room in her cradle) and she watched her first Disney movie. She is starting to respond more and more to us with noises, facial expressions, and smiles. And she is finally fitting into some of her 0-3 month clothes. She loves to be on her belly and tummy time frequently turns into nap time. She also loves her swing and her seahorse that glows and plays music.

2 Months
Emma Claire was two months old last Thursday. We had her well visit yesterday and she now weighs 9lbs 2oz (she was 6lbs 8oz at her 1 month) and is 20 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile for weight and the 3rd percentile for height. She is still wearing her newborn clothes although I don't think it will be long until she is fitting into her 0-3 months and she is wearing Size 1 diapers. Everything looks great and she did fantastic after her vaccines - a little fussy but not bad at all.
This past week she started fighting sleep. She has this little fake cry she will do and then she passes out mid cry. She also is pushing off our laps with her feet when we hold her on our chests. She loves to be on her belly and she now can pick her head up and turn it from side to side to follow our voices. We are still waiting on her to smile in response to us but it should be any day now.
Here is a comparison between 1 month and 2 months so you can see how much she has grown. (If you click on the picture, it will open up larger in a new window).

7 Weeks
Emma Claire is 7 weeks old! We've seen lots of changes this week including some sassiness finally starting to come out these past few days. She has real tears now and when you don't feed her quick enough you are sure to see them! She's been grabbing at things - her toys, my necklace, my hair, etc. and she is getting better and better everyday at holding her head up. She doesn't mind diaper changes and bathtime as much anymore. We've been putting her in the tub with us swimming her around to get her ready for the pool this summer!
We had a fun week. Our favorite nurse, Miss April, (who took care of Emma Claire in the Transition Care Nursery) and her husband Trey came over for dinner. And Emma Claire was spoiled rotten by our families on her first Easter with lots of presents.
Here are a few pictures from our week.
